LaSalle is named after a French explorer by the name of Rene Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle. The area was established in the mid 1700's by French Settlers.
The largest group of LaSalle residents report their eithnic origin as Canadian. There is a large population of Italian origin in LaSalle, even larger than the French and English populations.
There are a lot of Marinas and Water sports all through LaSalle. It has over 100 acres of parkland whcih include, playgrounds, pools, baseball diamonds and more.
Some of the Attractions in LaSalle are: The Strawberry Festival which takes place June 4th, Rick Hansen Wheels in Motion takes place in June, Annual Turkey Creek Canoe Race & Cleanup, The Terry Fox Run/ Walk for Cancer, and LaSalle's Santa Claus Parade. Also there are the baseball diamonds, pools, Millenium Garden and Soccer Fields to enjoy.
