Pelee Island is located in the western half of Lake Erie. It is connected to the Canadian and United States mainland by Ferry.

Pelee Island is the most southern populated area in all of Canada.

It has a population of 256 permanent residents but it can go to over 1,500 residents in the summer months. On long weekends, it can get as high as three thousand people.

The island has also been used for vineyards and wine making. The wine industry was started there in the 1980s and died out int he early twentieth century, then began up again in the 1980s.

Pelee Island also has many acres of crops. About 5,000 acres of soybeans, 1,000 acres of wheat, 500 acres of grapes and a few acres of specialty corn.
